HEALTH RISK

Hi everyone

There a big possibility that you may risk boosting your health today if you decide to pick up your knitting needles and get working on that WIP.

I've always found that knitting brings out the best in me. It helps me control my moods and also helps keep my brain and memory active by having to remember stitches, where I am in a pattern and also maths too (which I have to say was my least favourite subject at school and I'm still not that good at it).

So keep those knitting needles clicking and not only will you have a beautiful product when finished but you should feel and look the picture of health. Also sharing and teaching this craft to others will spread the health around.

Also heres a vlog about the similarities of knitting and yoga.

SOCK DISASTER

Hi everyone

This evening I was doing some clothes washing & among the bundle was hubbies socks I knitted him a few months ago. He loved them so much.

The washing machine had finished its cycle & I started to hang up the wet clothes only to my horror to find the socks in holy ruin.

The wool I used was really quite thin. I'm not sure what is happening because the socks I knitted hubby the time before this got such a big hole in them they weren't salvageable. Is it because I didn't hand wash them or is the wool I used not sturdy enough for socks?  Please let me know what you would do.

I think the next time I knit socks I'm going to buy some decent wool specifically for socks & just hand wash them.

It's a bit disheartening but I guess it gives me an excuse to knit some more.

Cheerio till next time.

AUSTRALIAN KNITTING NANNAS

Hi everyone

Today is very cold in wee Northern Ireland so I thought I'd heat you up with a news story all the way from New South Wales in Australia.

It is a story about a knitting group called The Knitting Nannas, who are Anti-coal seam gas campaigners.

Fair play I say.  If you are a member of a knitting group I am not saying you should get arrested, but why not help a local campaign or charity.

At the moment I am not a member of a knitting group, but the year is still young so who knows what might happen.

SMILEY LILS CHRISTMAS PRESENT FROM MR SMILEY LIL

Hi everyone

This Christmas my lovely hubby gave me a token.

The token was for a lovely wee shop in Bangor, Co.Down, Northern Ireland.

The last time I was in the shop I feel in love with some wool and lucky enough it was still in stock and in the sale so I got some.

I love the fact that is it 100% British breed wool. Farmers in the UK and Ireland don't get much money for their sheeps fleeces which is a real shame.
I haven't bought any fancy wool - as I would call it, rather then acrylic cheap wool - for a good wee while. I'm not sure what I'm going to knit with these balls of wool yet, but I know I'm going to have so much fun figuring it out and getting started.

I also purchased this ball of wool. I just feel in love with the colour.

I had just over a £1 left so I got this fluffy Pom Pom.

I think I'm going to knit the lovely Wendy wool into a hat and attach my funky Pom Pom on top.

If you have ideas what I should knit with my beautiful balls of wool please leave me a comment to let me know.

Cheerio till next time.

KNITTED CHRISTMAS PRESENTS

Hi everyone

Here are some photos of the presents I knitted for a few people this Christmas 2015.

This is my mum with her Christmas cowl on she loved it.

I also knitted her a hot water bottle cover to keep her warm at night over the winter months.

My best friend Emma received these snugly mittens and

This slouchy hat that a lovely toy monkey is modelling.

I had great fun knitting all these pressies and I think the receivers were pleased also.

Cheerio till next time.
